Jin Huiqing, the founder of Sanlian Traffic, is a researcher and professor, holding a Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in medicine. He is an expert in traffic accident epidemiology and road traffic accident prevention engineering. He has served as a representative of the National People’s Congress for several terms and currently holds positions as the Director of the National Vehicle Driving Safety Engineering Technology Research Center and President of Anhui Sanlian Academy.
For years, he has focused on accident prevention research, establishing the “Three Lines of Defense” theory and comprehensive prevention methods for road traffic accidents, significantly transforming China’s road traffic accident prevention model. He developed the country’s first driving fitness assessment system and created a complete set of technological equipment for road traffic accident prevention, addressing key technical challenges. He has led over 20 major research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, the “863” Program, and the Science and Technology Support Program; published over 100 papers; authored 12 books; and received multiple awards for significant technological achievements, including the National Science and Technology Progress Awards in 2002 and 2005. The American journal Science featured the Sanlian research team’s achievements in its 2011 issue, and nearly a hundred media outlets, including the Associated Press and The Times, reported on these accomplishments. The journal also highlighted the team’s results in its 2020 issue, titled “China’s Path to Reducing Road Traffic Accidents.”
In the ongoing process of advancing Chinese modernization, all members of Sanlian will continue to follow the founder’s lead with renewed enthusiasm and a pragmatic approach, actively implementing national policies for building a strong transportation nation and continuously pioneering new developments in proactive traffic accident prevention, writing new chapters in this magical thesis.
